A problem solver which comes with a knife

When you can stop, you don’t want to And when you want to stop, you can’t"

What I have understood is that – when they give you a chance to stop liquor you don’t stop and later when you realize it is dangerous and try to stop you can’t because by then you are already addicted.
Alcohol and smoking are known as intoxicants. Many people indulge in them for various reasons but they have several harmful effects on our health. The use of these intoxicants is also considered a social evil. Do you know what their after-effects are?

People generally consume tobacco in the form of bidi, cigarettes or hookah. Some people chew it raw. Tobacco contains a powerful poison called nicotine, and 26 other poisons. When we smoke, our blood absorbs some nicotine. Nicotine excites
our body and it causes excessive coughing. Nicotine is also an addictive substance

Alcohol is a form of liquor that is very harmful to our health. People think drinking alcohol can reduce stress and make them active but what it does is the opposite, it makes your vision blury and makes you uncontrollable by giving extra energy. It shortens coordination, and in addition to the brain can damage every other organ in the body. It is also a slow poison. Lots of accidents are caused by intoxicants. Alcohol weakens judgment and leads to memory lapses. It can lead to loss of consciousness.

“Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, and your values become your destiny.” As quoted by Mahatma Gandhi
I would like to pen down an incident that happened due to drinking alcohol. Ramachandran KT, grand uncle, grandfather’s brother, died due to excessive drinking and smoking. He was the one amongst the ten children of my great grandparent’s and he was the youngest brother of all. He used to love children he played with them, took them to tour and fun rides. He worked in the Middle East for a long time and returned back to India. Then he worked as an account officer in a college. He was the most educated one of that family. He slowly stopped playing with the kids because he started drinking and smoking. He used to drink 4 pegs and smoke 2 packets a day. He started drinking and smoking because he thought that he could become a macho man as all the movie actors. As rightly quoted by Mahatma Gandhi his belief became his thoughts, his thoughts became his action and his action became a habit. His skin started getting darker due to excessive smoking. We all forced him to go to the hospital when he started vomiting blood and wasn't able to move around properly. He was admitted to BMH, Baby Memorial Hospital, where the doctors told that he was in critical condition. His liver and kidneys were on the verge to fail. He was admitted to ICU 1. He also had jaundice. He was recovering everyone was happy but his liver was failing due to the antibiotics. Then his liver failed and slowly all his organs failed. He passed away recently this Saturday, 1 April. He was cremated on 2nd April. That was the first cremation ceremony I have seen.
