The Last Breath
Down from the mountain, I fall with a sigh,
Towards the cacti, I gently glide
by.
The wind in my hair, the sky so blue,
I take in the sight, as I bid adieu.
Memories flash by, like a movie reel,
Of laughter and love,
and the way I feel.
The people I've met, and the places I've been,
All rush
back to me, as I face my end.
The sun in my eyes, the earth at my feet,
I smile as I
think, this is bittersweet.
I've lived a good life, and I won't regret,
For
I've loved and been loved, and that is a debt.
So I close my eyes, and embrace my fate,
As I fall towards
the earth, with a peaceful gait.
And I know that someday, I'll be free,
From
this world of pain, and live eternally.
